C6 Platform

BioAmber is leveraging its capabilities and its succinic acid platform to develop a new product platform around C6 building blocks. The C6 platform offers potential routes to adipic acid, caprolactam and HMDA, which collectively represent an addressable market in excess of $24 billion.
 

BioAmber has exclusively licensed a novel metabolic pathway from Celexion that offers a route from sugars to several C6 chemicals, as illustrated in the diagram below.  BioAmber is leveraging its bio-succinic acid platform to accelerate development, including its:

  • R&D laboratories
  • Novel purification process
  • Piloting facilities
