Polymers
As social consciousness and the need for better products continue to mature, the global demand for high-performance, biodegradable plastics and polymers is growing rapidly. Modified polybutylene succinate (mPBS) is the answer for manufacturers in need of cost-effective, flexible, reliable and responsible solutions. Made with bio-succinic acid, mPBS is an economical, environmentally-friendly plastic that can be used in the manufacturing of everyday products.
What Is Modified PBS?
Modified polybutylene succinate polymers, or “mPBS”, are biodegradable aliphatic polyester composites. These composites are engineered and designed at the molecular level using BioAmber’s proprietary technology to meet end-user requirements for high performance, biodegradable plastics. The uniformity, performance and processability of mPBS in existing equipment has been confirmed by a number of end users, with applications ranging from foodservice cutlery and coffee cup lids to plates, bowls, straws and stirrers, as well as non food contact applications such as razor handles, sheets, films and fibers.
