Lubricants
Bio-succinic esters are environmentally friendly solutions for the lubricants market as base oils and additives in industrial lubricants and metal-working fluids, with improved flowability in cold temperatures and better prevention of oxidation and corrosion.
In industrial oils, BioAmber’s bio-succinic acid can achieve the desirable anti-corrosion performance at less than 1% by weight. At higher concentrations (i.e. 1 to 10% by weight), bio-succinic acid derivatives can be used for the formulation of rust preventative oils, where the anti-corrosion properties exceed the performance standard of calcium and barium sulphonates.
