Tomorrow's Chemistry. Today.

Responsible. Economical. Available.

There's a perfect substitute for petrochemicals found in everyday products.
BioAmber produces it responsibly, economically and at scale.

Succinic acid is a platform chemical from which several derivative compounds can be made. Derivative chemicals have specific properties that are attractive to differing product segments and applications.

Chemicals used the in the manufacturing of everyday products include 1,4-butanediol, tetrahydrofuran, butyrolactone, pyrrolidones, and more; all of which are derived from succinic acid. Succinic acid can be used in the manufacturing of new biopolymers such as polyesters, polyamides, polyesteramides, polybutylene succinates and more. The downstream applications of succinic acid are diversified. As such, BioAmber is spearheading application development projects in conjunction with its R&D activities to uncover new opportunities and build a portfolio of succinic acid-related products.
