Patrick PIOT
General Manager

Patrick PIOT began his career at Rhône-Poulenc and then held various sales and purchasing positions at Aventis CropScience. After Aventis was bought out by Bayer CropScience, he joined the global purchasing office in Germany, where he was responsible for the strategic portfolio of active materials. Patrick PIOT has 10 years of experience in the chemical industry in business development and negotiation. He is additionally responsible for coordinating activities related to business development for Bio-amber and, in this capacity, is the preferred contact for present and future partners of Bio-amber. Of French nationality, Patrick has a master of science degree from the National Agronomic Institute Paris-Grignon and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
Anthony BRESIN
Vice President, Research and Development

Anthony BRESIN has been in charge of ARD’s fermentation service since 2000. The ARD coordinator of development of the fermentation process component of the ethanol production program on behalf of the ARD shareholders (construction of a 280,000 ton ethanol unit at the Bazancourt site), he is involved in the production of biopolymers by fermentation (particularly hyaluronic acid). In charge of the Eladium business unit (production of molecules for the microbiology diagnostic sector), he holds seven patents as an inventor in the production and application of biopolymers. Anthony BRESIN holds a master of science degree in biotechnology from the University of Marseille, France.
Roger Laurent BERNIER, Ph.D., P.Ag.
Vice President, Intellectual Property and Licensing

Laurent BERNIER has held various research and managerial positions within ICI Canada and Zeneca BioProducts, where he directly contributed to the discovery, development and launch of five biotechnology-related products and services. He is the primary inventor of six biotechnology related patents and has published extensively in the area of agricultural and forestry biotechnology. Laurent BERNIER has held various adjunct professorships and has been a guest lecturer at several Canadian universities. He received his Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from the University of Montreal. He was the recipient of an INSERC industrial post-doctoral fellowship, conducted at the Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada in collaboration with McGill University, Montreal.
Dilum DUNUWILA, Ph.D.
Vice President, Business Development

Dilum DUNUWILA has been directly involved in the development of succinic acid technologies and is the co-inventor of numerous succinic acid technologies including the formulations, applications, and separations that form part of DNP’s technology platform. He has served as the Principal Investigator on several SBIR grants from USDOE, USDA, USEPA, and the US Navy. Dilum DUNUWILA received his Ph.D. and M.S. from Michigan State University in chemical engineering and his B.S. degree from Michigan State University in chemistry.
