Bio-amber is a joint venture that combines the scientific, technical and commercial expertise of two companies that are leaders in the field of industrial biotechnology: Agro-industries Recherches et Développements (ARD) and DNP Green Technology (DNP):
ARD, a subsidiary of agro-industrial groups representing collectively a turnover of more than €3 billion, began its research into bio-based chemistry and white biotechnology in 1985. Endowed with laboratories that specialize in fractionation and phytochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, organic synthetic and analytical chemistry, ARD developed several technologies that have proven successful for its partner companies:
- SOLIANCE : A leading company producing bio-based active ingredients for the cosmetics industry
- CRISTANOL : One of the largest European bio-ethanol plants from wheat and sugar beets
- WHEATOLEO : A joint venture with the Belgian company Oléon, a specialist in the commercialization of innovative bio-based surfactants (alkyl polypentosides)
DNP Green Technology’s corporate goal is to improve the well-being of consumers by offering chemicals that are both safe and renewable. We focus on products and processes that are patent-protected, innovative, and able to offer demonstrable benefits for end-users.
