Organized by Organic Monitor, the aim of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit is to encourage sustainability in the beauty industry by bringing together key stake-holders and debate major issues in a high-level forum. With growing consumer concerns about harmful chemicals in cosmetic & personal care products the summit addressed what ingredients are associated with health and environmental risks. What green materials are emerging to replace controversial ingredients, what are the safety issues of using natural ingredients? Are they truly sustainable, even though they are natural?
BioAmber’s table-top exhibit highlighted the performance of bio-Based succinic acid in a range of personal care applications including skin care and hair care, as well as exfoliation: a new ingredient that brings both performance and sustainability to the cosmetics industry.
